NanoHorizons Successfully Completes Planned Second Phase of Spring 2008 Round of Funding

Posted: March 08, 2009

NanoHorizons Inc. today announced that it has completed its planned $3.5 million second phase funding from the company’s spring 2008 Series B preferred equity offering

NanoHorizons, a private corporation, invents, designs, and manufactures advanced silver nanoparticles that add permanent, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly antimicrobial protection to textile, health care, consumer, and industrial products. The company markets its antimicrobial solution under the SmartSilver™ brand.

“With the completion of this anticipated phase of funding, we will continue to expand the product, business, and research development activities that have successfully fueled the growth of SmartSilver as a uniquely effective antimicrobial brand,” states David A. Woodle, Chairman and CEO of NanoHorizons. “We appreciate our investors’ support and enthusiasm for both our company and our products.”

SmartSilver’s innovative antimicrobial additives are uniquely engineered to integrate silver nanoparticles at the molecular level, providing anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-odor protection that never wears off or washes out, lasting the life of the end-product. The nanoscale size also permits SmartSilver to work invisibly without compromising other performance attributes of the product. SmartSilver additives are easily integrated into the manufacturing process and can be applied effectively to natural and synthetic fibers and fabrics as well as coating, foam and polymer applications. SmartSilver’s additives were recently approved by the International Oeko-Tex Association as having been extensively tested and determined not to be harmful to human health. SmartSilver additives are also EPA-registered for use in fibers, coatings, and polymers and have been endorsed by Australian Wool Innovation.
